Stuck on one? Get a second wrench on it.
Tech support for diesel shops, owner-operators, and fleets โ from a working heavy diesel mechanic.
Coverage: all semi trucks and trailers โ all makes, all engines.
It's the one that eats the whole day. The derate nobody can chase down. The fault code that doesn't make sense. The spec you can't find, the part number that won't cross, the aftertreatment problem that keeps coming back. Meanwhile the bay is tied up, the customer is calling, and the techs are guessing โ and guessing gets expensive fast.
What you need in that moment isn't another scanner. It's a second set of eyes โ a heavy diesel mechanic who's seen it before, who works the problem with you and tells you exactly what to test, in what order, and what to do with the answer. That's Second Wrench.
1. Send the request. Subscribers fill out a short form: the truck or trailer, the fault codes, the symptoms, and what's already been tried.
2. Get your PDF. Within 24 hours, a detailed PDF lands in your inbox โ likely causes ranked in order, diagnosis steps with the exact readings to expect, every spec and torque value for the job, and the step-by-step repair guide. Written so a green tech can be walked through it.
3. Still stuck? Book a tech call. Subscribers schedule a live call by appointment โ booking page โ so you get a mechanic's full attention, not a rushed guess.
Requests are subscribers-only. When you subscribe, your welcome email includes your shop's private form address and shop code.
Subscribers can mark a request Rush โ $59 per request. In by 2:00 p.m. Central on a business day, your PDF comes back that same day. After 2:00, it's back by 10:00 a.m. the next business day. One active rush per shop at a time.
Standard requests: your PDF back within 24 hours, at the latest. Requests in after 3:00 p.m. Central on Friday โ or over the weekend โ are delivered the following business day (Monday). Follow-ups on the same problem are part of the same request.
Don't take our word for it โ read a complete sample answer: a derating DD15 with SCR NOx faults, worked from the first code to final verification, with torque specs and green-tech-proof test steps.
| What one bad day costs | What it runs |
|---|---|
| One hour of dealer labor | ~$175 |
| One wrong part thrown at a guess | $300โ$1,000+ |
| Repair-information subscriptions (no worked-out PDF for your truck) | $209โ$229 / month |
| One failed DOT annual โ re-inspection + a truck sitting | A day or more of downtime |
| Second Wrench โ whole shop, unlimited help | $149 / month |
One saved misdiagnosis pays for months of the service. One passed DOT annual pays for a year.
Second Wrench is just opening its doors. The first 5 shops to subscribe lock in $149/month for life โ your rate never goes up, even when it does for everybody else. When those five spots are gone, they're gone.
How many questions can we ask? Unlimited. Every tech in your shop, as often as you need.
How fast? Within 24 hours standard โ same day on a Rush request in by 2:00 p.m. Central.
What do you need from us? The form asks for truck info, engine, codes, symptoms, and what's already been tried. The full VIN is required on every request โ without it we can't do parts lookup, cross-reference, or recall checks, and diagnosis comes back less accurate. For engine work, the engine serial number is highly recommended โ it's what pins the specs and parts to your exact engine. The better the info in, the better the answer out.
Is the price per shop or per company? Per shop location โ fleets with more than one yard subscribe per yard.
Is there a contract? No long-term contract. Subscriptions are month-to-month โ cancel any time with 30 days' notice.
$149 / month โ whole shop, unlimited help.
